Welcome to my blog! My name is Felitia Conley and I'm a 1st Grade teacher. I'm entering into my 4th year teaching this coming year. I first taught 2nd grade in Washington and over the summer I had the opportunity to return to the district and the school where I completed my student teaching, so I took the job. I've taught 1st grade for two full years and truly love this grade. I think what I enjoy most is the growth the students make throughout the year, which is what makes my "job" so enjoyable.
I'm 25 years old and live in Washington with my husband and our cat. My husband is also a teacher and teaches science courses at the high school in our town. He originally went to school to be a doctor, but was brought into the education career and has enjoyed it over the last 2 years.
I attended Western Washington University for my Bachelors in Special Education and graduated in 2013. I recently graduated from Concordia University with my Masters in Reading Instruction. My husband attended Wright State University for his Bachelors in Biology in 2014. He also just graduated from Western Governor's University with a Masters in Teaching Science.
I used to coach softball for the last 7 years at the Junior High, High School, and travel ball levels. I decided that it was time for me to take a break and put forth that energy into my family and work. I still love the game and this next year will be enjoying my little sister's senior season at Linfield College.
I hope you enjoy following my blog and learning more about my classroom!
